Thoughts on the 06.01.15 Nintendo Direct Micro

E3 is coming up fast and Nintendo decided to release a shorter version of their Nintendo Directs; a Nintendo Direct Micro!  They announced a few titles to tie us over until we see what they have in store for us at E3, and some of them look pretty good!  Here are my thoughts on each announcement:

  • Chibi Robo Zip Lash – 3DS
Yes!  Finally another platformer in the works for the 3DS!!!  I know I could use a solid platformer, and Chibi Robo definitely has promise.  That Amiibo is pretty damn cute too…
  • Dr. Mario Miracle Cure – 3DS
Never really been into these, as I’m not a Tetris-style game fan.  This one is a pass for me, but glad the 3DS is getting more love.
  • Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon – 3DS
This is definitely a skip for me as well; I’ve never been into this series, and I don’t think I ever will be.
  • Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games – 3DS | Wii U
This definitely has potential, but again, not a series I’ve ever been into.  I’ll be honest, I love multiplayer stuff for the Wii U, and this might actually be fun!  I’ll keep it on my radar because, hey, it might make for some fun game nights!!!
  • Splatoon Update – Wii U
Meh, don’t care…just a weapon and map update for the game.
  • Art Academy Home Studio – Wii U
Pass for me, never been into stuff like this.
  • Project Treasure – Wii U
Hmmm, not sure on this one since we just got a teaser, but it looks like a co-op fighting game.  Probably a pass for me.
  • Nintendo World Championships 2015
Yawn.  I don’t think I honestly care about this!  XDDDDDDDDD
  • LBX: Little Battlers Experience – 3DS
I’ll be honest, this kind of looks cool!!!  It reminds me of Pokemon, and I love the anime style.  Something else to look out for, or something else that will end up becoming a huge disappointment, lol.  The gameplay doesn’t really look like my thing, but I won’t count it out just yet.
  • Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition Update – 3DS
Looks like you get more worlds to check out – an update I guess.  Not for me.
  • Bravely Second Announcement – 3DS
Looks like the west is getting Bravely Second!!!  Although I haven’t checked out the first one, I am excited that the 3DS is getting more JRPG LOVE!!!  This is excellent news for any JRPG fan!  It looks amazing too!

So although most of these are a pass for me, a few games caught my attention, like Chibi Robo!!!  I am so excited about that game because it has potential to be a really great platformer!!!  I am thrilled that we are getting Bravely Second because the JRPG can sometimes be a genre that is left in the dust, so glad to see we are getting it over here in the west.  Most of these games looked meh, but E3 is coming up, so I am hoping Nintendo has some REALLY exciting news for us then!!!
