September was definitely a good month for me for games! One of my most anticipated releases of the year came out (Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair), and it did not disappoint. I also finished Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney for the DS, which I also really enjoyed. I figured since October is almost over, I had better make an update about how my September went!
For starters, I went to New York (for the fourth time) with my Mom as she had never been, and we had a wonderful time. I picked up some games, had great food, saw a play (The Country House – and we met Blythe Danner!), went to MoMA, finally saw the Statue of Liberty up close, and a lot more! It was a great time as always; I mean, who doesn’t love Manhattan? It’s like being in a movie every time, and it never gets old.
I picked up Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair the week it came out and spent all of my time devoted to it. What a game; what a story; what an experience. If you loved the first entry into this wacky series, you will love the second one. It was everything that the first game had to offer and more. I am usually pretty bad at finishing games quickly (or at all), and this game was beat in no time. I don’t kid around when it comes to this series. Not only would Danganronpa 1&2 be in my top ten games of all time, but a top five…perhaps top 3 would be possible. I love these games to say the least. I will be doing a video review on this game for sure, because any reason to talk about it pleases me.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney was the other game that I was playing and finally finished!!! I think the reason it took me so long was that as even though it’s an engaging game with a fun series, the cases are pretty much on their own, so after awhile, I am kinda done with it. Having said that; however, the cases and trials in this game were soooooo fun and I really enjoyed seeing where each trial played out. It was a fun ride for sure. I recently purchased the second one in New York, so maybe next year I’ll start it. I need a little break from trial games! I will also being a video review on this, so stay tuned!
The game that I am currently playing for my 3DS is Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked. I recently picked it up and decided to give it a shot. It’s a SRPG in a modern day setting with the classic demon fusion of the SMT games. So far I am about 3 hours into it (a recent purchase of a console game has got me preoccupied at the moment!), but so far, what I have played is fun and looks like it will be an enjoyable game. I am definitely looking forward to seeing where it goes. I’m all over modern day setting (as I’m sure you all know…).
I’m sure Mario Kart 8 found it’s way onto the screen at some point as it always does. I still love that game! It was $65 well spent. Stay tuned for October as my boyfriend and I made a really awesome purchase that definitely has kept us console gaming… 😀
